Over and above the specific criteria for each category, entrants will be judged on their ability to identify and meet visitor expectations. This includes price, living up to advertising claims and satisfying visitor expectations created by references.
Entrants will also be evaluated on the actual products or services they provide and the environment in which the service or product transactions take place.
The assessments will be weighted to place emphasis on the quality of service, and the attitudes and behaviour of employees.
Suggested judging criteria
After careful consideration, the criteria used are based on the 4 most important areas which are applicable to all businesses and individuals in all categories:
- Making contact or booking of services
- Arrival/Service preparation
- The experience
- Departure or conclusion of service
These criteria would be used for Official Pre-announced telephonic interviews as well as Mystery Visits for the Welcome Awards 2010.
In addition to entering the awards, an establishment can also be nominated by the public. The establishment with the most nominations will receive a special award, recognising their popularity with the public.
